Hi! I'm Sutanu, a student in Kolkata who builds websites on the side. I handle both ends myself — the HTML, CSS and JavaScript you see, and the PHP and MySQL running quietly behind it. Right now I'm taking on part-time and freelance work, mostly small to medium-sized sites: portfolios, blogs, and websites for schools or associations.
I'm currently a student in Kolkata, and web development is what I do alongside that — not a hobby I dabble in, but something I take seriously enough to have shipped real projects for real people.
I got into it the usual way: wanting to fix something small, then wanting to understand how the whole thing worked underneath. That curiosity is still what drives most of what I build — I like knowing both the frontend someone clicks through and the database quietly holding it together.
Since I'm still studying, I'm upfront about it: I take on part-time and freelance work, not full-time commitments. It means I'm realistic about scope — small to medium sites where I can actually give proper attention, not ten projects running at once.
I keep to a handful of tools I actually know well, rather than a long list I've only skimmed once. Frontend and backend both, so I can take a site from a blank page to something people can actually use.
I write and own the architecture, logic, and database design myself — but I don't pretend AI tools like Claude aren't part of my process. I use them to move faster on the parts that used to eat up time.
Two real projects for real people, not just practice exercises. Both were built solo, front to back, using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP and MySQL.
